#019 Meet Ally Brooke
Ally Brooke is multi-platinum singer songwriter who was a member of the group 5th Harmony. She was chosen to be part of the group when she auditioned for the TV show The X Factor.
While she’s no longer a member of the group, she has launched her career as a solo artist.
She also appeared on Dancing With the Stars and just starred in her first movie, High Expectations.
Her personal and professional life has been filled with ups and downs, however. From her mother’s chronic pain to being body-shamed, Ally has experienced a variety of struggles.
She’s written a new book called Finding Your Harmony where she talks about some of the most painful times in her life–and her emotional pain is something most of us can relate to.
I listened to the audiobook first and I loved it so much I bought it in hardcover too. She talks a lot about strength and her insights and strategies are really good.
Some of the things Ally and I discuss:
“Sometimes it’s actually easier for us to be strong for the people we love than it is to be strong for ourselves.”
“You can overcome even your most gut-wrenching difficult moments and learn from them and yes, even grow stronger.”
“Therapy is such a powerful tool to unlock so much of yourself, to conquer so much of your inner fears and doubts and traumas and to really become stronger.”
“At the end of the day we are all human. We all have emotions and we all struggle. We all have such pain but it’s possible to achieve greater heights.”
