#026 Friday Fix: Behave Like the Person You Want to Become
Have you ever thought about the kind of person you’d like to be? Maybe you want to be a nicer person, mentally stronger person, a healthier person, or a happier person.
But how do you get over that gap that stands between who you are now and the person you’d like to become?
In today’s Friday Fix I’m going to share how to break through that barrier so you can become the person you’ve always wanted to be.
But, let me warn you. There isn’t a secret trick to becoming that person. You have to put in some work to make it happen. It takes practice and hard work, but with effort, it’s possible.
Tune in to the show and I’ll give you some real life examples from my therapy office who have put this practice into place. I’ll share what they decided to do and how it worked for them.
And before you tune in, I encourage you to think about the person you’d like to become. What kind of a person do you want to be? And what would you be doing differently right now if you were that person?
“Ask yourself, ‘What would a mentally strong person do right now?’ Then, go do that.”
“Take a few minutes and think about what type of person you want to be. And then, identify some steps you could right now to start acting more like that person.”
“Acting like the person you want to be doesn’t mean acting fake. It means you’re putting your best foot forward now even though it feels a little uncomfortable.”
