#050 MEET HOUSTON KRAFT
Houston Kraft is a kindness advocate. Through his trainings, workshops, and events, he’s reached over a half million people.
He’s the co-founder of Character Strong, a company that makes it their mission to encourage more compassion in schools and communities. They’ve worked with over 2,500 schools on changing the way they think about kindness.
You may have seen Houston’s face before. In 2019, he was featured on bags of Lay’s potato chips! As part of their Spreading Smiles campaign, his smile appeared on BBQ and Jalapeño chip bags.
Houston’s book, Deep Kindness, is a great read. It just might change the way you think about kindness.
Some of the things Houston and I discuss:
“I can say, ‘I forgive you and no, you’re not allowed to do this.’ That way I can show up more readily with other people in my life and still be kind.”
“What if you were never, again, allowed to say, I don’t have time? What if instead you had to say it’s not my priority?”
“Forgiveness is separating people from their behaviors. We do bad things sometimes. We’re not bad people.”
