When we talk about grief, we often refer to the loss of a loved one. But this is not the only type of loss that causes emotional pain. Sometimes, our losses are invisible — like when someone criticizes our dream and we stop pursuing it.
Christina Rasmussen is a grief educator and the best-selling author of several books, including Second Firsts. Her new book is Invisible Loss. Some of the things she talks about are how to identify our invisible losses, how to heal old wounds, and how to step out of the “waiting room” so you can start fully living.
Christina Rasmussen is a renowned grief educator and best-selling author known for her transformative work on grief and loss. She is the acclaimed author of “Second Firsts” and “Where Did You Go?” Her newest book, “Invisible Loss,” addresses the subtler forms of grief that can keep us stuck. Christina has a background in studying grief and has facilitated support groups, creating the Life Reentry Model to help individuals reclaim their lives after experiencing loss.
“Invisible losses keep us stuck, and it’s important to pay attention to these unacknowledged forms of grief.”
“Sometimes sharing a passion or dream, and getting judged for it, can lead us to hide parts of ourselves.”
“Life doesn’t have to be this freaking hard. What if it’s supposed to be slightly easier?”
